I had a long drive last weekend to and from a conference. Lucky for me, someone else was driving, so I had time to knit. I made one of these on the way to the conference and the other one on the way home.
I've been riding Charlotte's new light rail system to get to the McColl Center, and these fingerless gloves will be great for getting money out of my pocket, and for keeping track of my ticket. Last week I kept taking my gloves off and setting them down on the seat next to me, so I'm lucky I haven't already lost some!
I mostly followed the Maine Morning Mittens pattern available for free here. It's one of the patterns in The Book of Yarn, which I borrowed from the library last week.
The yarn is a superwash wool, which I bought in a natural color. I dyed it using Wilton cake dyes. It was really easy to do and I'm pleased with how the yarn and the mittens turned out.
