Colonia, Uruguay

I have the incredible opportunity of traveling to South America. After an overnight flight to Buenos Aires, Argentina, a cab ride, and then a ferry across the Rio de la Plata, my daughter and I arrived in Colonia, Uruguay

Fortunately, I actually did get some sleep on the plane, so I was able to enjoy walking around this UNESCO World Heritage site. I'm happy to share some of my favorite photos with you. If you enjoy these, please sign up to subscribe to my blog feed, or check back regularly, as I plan to share the rest the rest of our trip with you over the next couple of weeks.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who takes closeup pictures of peeling paint and crumbling walls when I travel?

I love the variety of merchandise this shop has on display on their sidewalk. The patchwork was actually sewn from a plush fabric.

We just happened to come across this lovely area with lots of arts and crafts shops. Lush both outside and in!

The tile museum was closed when we finally found it, but I couldn't resist photographing the door handle.

The people in Colonia were gracious and the setting was beautiful. I'd definitely go back there if the opportunity presents itself. I'd love to explore more of Uruguay.
